Meet Aman, one of our amazing Participant Engagement Coordinators, as she delves deeper into her outstanding skills and background.
Why did you join Nulsen?
I joined the Nulsen team because I truly align with the organisation’s values of supporting and empowering people.
The opportunity to work in a team that prioritises care, inclusion, and community really resonated with me. I’ve always been passionate about helping others, and Nulsen’s commitment to providing personalised care and making a real difference in people’s lives was something I wanted to be a part of!
Also, Nulsen’s focus on continuous learning and professional development is something that excites me, as I believe in constantly growing both personally and professionally.
I’m eager to contribute my skills and experience to help Nulsen further its vision and make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support.
What is your favourite thing about your role?
What I love most about my role so far is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I work with. I really enjoy being part of a team that is focused on supporting people in ways that empower them and help them achieve their goals.
I also appreciate the chance to bring my diverse background and skills to the table, whether it’s my experience in customer service, payroll, or my passion for human behaviour and technology. The dynamic and supportive environment here at Nulsen makes every day rewarding, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to see the positive difference we make together.
What is your previous experience?
I have worked in a variety of roles over the years, which has given me a diverse skillset and broad industry experience.
I started out as a teacher, with experience in teaching geography, psychology, and literature which allowed me to foster a deep appreciation for different perspectives and critical thinking. This background in teaching allowed me to develop a thorough understanding of how people learn and interact with new information.
In addition to my teaching background, I’ve accumulated over 10 years of experience in customer service, where I’ve honed my communication, developed strong problem-solving skills, learned how to handle complex situations, and built lasting relationships with clients.
I’ve also spent 5 years working in payroll and rostering, gaining expertise in managing employee schedules, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with various regulations.
Alongside this, I’ve completed a Master’s in Information System Management, providing me with a solid foundation in technology, data management, and the strategic use of information systems.
My special interest lies in the intersection of technology, finance, and human behaviour. I’m fascinated by how businesses leverage technology to improve operations and make smarter financial decisions.
What are your other interests and hobbies?
I really enjoy diving into human psychology – it’s fascinating to explore how people think and behave. I also have a keen interest in finance, and love learning about how money works and the strategies behind successful investments.
When I’m in the mood for something more creative, I love painting; it’s a great way to unwind and express myself. Travelling is another passion of mine. Exploring new places, and cultures is something I really enjoy.
I also have a German Shepherd, who’s a big part of my life – they’re an incredibly loyal and intelligent breed. My dog loves staying active and enjoys long walks, playing fetch, and learning new tricks!
