We are pleased to share that Justin O’Meara Smith will commence as Chief Executive Officer of Nulsen Disability Services on Monday, 20 July 2026.
As we look ahead to Justin joining Nulsen, we would like to share how we will support his transition and ensure continuity for employees, residents, families, and all those connected to our organisation.
While Justin is already familiar with Nulsen, his initial focus will be on listening, learning, and gaining a deeper understanding of The Nulsen Way. He will spend time with employees, residents, families, and leaders across the organisation to build a strong appreciation of Nulsen’s services, culture, history, and community.
As Justin steps into the role, our collective priority is to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition grounded in stability, care, and connection. He will be supported by Nulsen’s leadership team and PeopleKind Group as he takes the time to listen, learn, and understand what matters most to the people we support and those who contribute to our organisation every day.
We greatly value Justin’s genuine interest in The Nulsen Way and his leadership philosophy, which aligns strongly with our values. His commitment to respectful partnerships, meaningful collaboration, compassion, resilience, and empowering people to live the life they choose reflects the principles that have guided Nulsen throughout its proud history.
During his early weeks, Justin will also focus on learning about Nulsen’s heritage, ways of working, and the relationships that sit at the heart of our organisation. This strong foundation has been carefully maintained throughout the interim period following Caroline Watt’s resignation, under the leadership of Acting Chief Executive Officer, Sharleen Chilvers.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Sharleen for her unwavering commitment, dedication, and leadership during this time. Her support of Nulsen and the people we serve has been deeply appreciated. We also recognise the tremendous efforts of our leaders and employees, whose commitment has ensured that the quality of support, care, and compassion provided across Nulsen has remained seamless throughout this period of transition.
We look forward to welcoming Justin to the Nulsen community from 20 July and to supporting a smooth and considered transition as we continue to build on Nulsen’s proud legacy together.
